Part-time Job Summary For M on High Restaurant, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work as a bartender & server by providing friendly and prompt service to create a unique and memorable fine dining experience in a warm and inviting setting.
Someone who will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages, and build rapport with guests to encourage repeated business and word of mouth referrals.
You will maintain a sanitary environment up to health code and ensure optimum quality of service.
Must be flexible and comfortable to transition back-and-forth between bartending and serving based on the need per shift.
Must also have a flexible schedule with full weekend availability for morning and evening shifts and to be reliable on-call with the understanding that you will be scheduled as needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Manage time and efficiency assuring that guests seated get proper attention.
Greet guests and display good customer relation skills.
Setup and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar.
Ensure tables are set with the appropriate place settings, glassware, and plates.
That they are all clean, polished and presentable before guests are seated.
Stay updated and knowledgeable on current menu, drinks, specials and whether the kitchen runs out of any items.
Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences, allergies and dietary restrictions.
Collaborate and communicate with other staff members to ensure efficient service.
Handle and follow all alcohol policies as required by the State.
Check identification for minors and monitor for prevention of intoxication.
Ensure timely delivery and presentation of specialty cocktails and drinks to guests.
Maintain cleanliness of all beverage outlets and all supplies and equipment used to perform job duties for the bar.
Follow all health code standards related to sanitation of the bar and seating area.
Must maintain an accurate inventory account of all bar items and is responsible for restocking product.
Make sure garnishes and mixers are prepped and ready to go when restaurant opens, then properly put away and stored at the end of each shift.
Experience using a Point of Sales System.
Secure a valid method of payment for all transactions.
Perform opening and closing duties as instructed by the general manager on each shift.
Prepare a Z-Report at end of shift.
Job Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a server and bartender.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of principles for dealing directly with the public.
Ability to handle cash and give correct amount of change to guests.
Must have a valid California Food Handlers Card.
Must have a valid Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) Certification.
Must be fully available to work Saturdays & Sundays as well as morning and evening shifts depending on the need.
Must be available to work on holidays.
Must be flexible to switch between bartender and server as needed.
Physical demands of the job include but are not limited to:
